The PSWC is pleased to announce a trip to the NCAA Wrestling National tournament in Philadelphia March 19th – 23rd.  Buses will leave State College on Wednesday, March 19th, late in the morning and travel to the three Club hotels.  All bus riders will also be provided shuttle service to and from the Wells Fargo Center each day of the tournament as well as during the session breaks on Friday and Saturday.  Transportation will also be provided to all bus riders following the Saturday night Social back to the Hyatt and the Sonesta Hotels.  The buses will head back to State College Sunday morning.  The cost of the bus trip is $162 per person.

 
Shuttle only service:
Due to the excessive cost of private shuttling services (approximately $150/person) and the extended length of time it will take the chartered buses to travel to and from the arena due to very heavy expected traffic, shuttle service will not be available to those who do not take the chartered bus trip from State College.  Limited ADA service may be available depending on the number of empty seats on the chartered bus.  Please contact Helen Knerr (helenknerr@gmail.com) to enquire about this limited option.
 
Those members not taking the chartered bus from State College are strongly encouraged to make use of the light rail system (SEPTA) for transportation to the Wells Fargo Center.  Entrances to the light rail are conveniently located close to the three PSWC hotels (see attached map, the Broad Street Line is colored orange).  Riders are dropped off very near the Wells Fargo Center.  The cost of the light rail system is very reasonable at approximately $28 for the entire tournament.  A SEPTA information Sheet is also attached to this announcement that contains additional information on the use of SEPTA.    We encourage members to download the SEPTA app from the App Store or Google play for maps, station information and other pertinent information such as free senior passes.
 
Other options to be considered are the use of a taxi or uber, ride sharing with other PSWC members to reduce the parking costs near the Wells Fargo Center, or possible shuttles offered by the hotels.

What is SEPTA?
The metro system that provides frequent, around the clock subway, elevated train, and trolley service in and to the Philadelphia area

Fast, easy, convenient, and inexpensive transportation service to and from the PSWC hotels to the Wells Fargo Center for the wrestling national championship.

The transit runs approximately every 7- 12 minutes depending on the time of day.

Contactless Payment ( credit card, debit card, mobile)
– $2.00-$3.50 per trip per person – 1 st & 2 nd transfers allowed within 2 hours
using the same card but does not include round trips
– This would be a total cost of ~$14/day for going back and forth for the morning
and evening sessions
– Children under 12 ride free with a fare paying adult

Walk ~ ¼ mile to City Hall station – BSL (Broad Street Line)
Board and ride to get off at NRG Station ( ~15 minutes)
