UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestlers (6-0, 3-0 B1G) continue Big Ten road action this weekend when they trek to Maryland (3-4, 1-3 B1G). The Nittany Lions and Terrapins tangle on Sunday, Jan., 28, at 12 p.m. in a B1G Network national telecast. All rankings listed are InterMat/InterMat TPI.

Penn State is coming off an outstanding two-dual sweep in the state of Michigan last weekend. The Nittany Lions won a combined 18 of 20 bouts, dominating No. 5 Michigan 27-9 in Ann Arbor on Friday and shutting out Michigan State 35-0 in East Lansing on Sunday. Penn State improved to 6-0, 3-0 B1G, with the wins.

The Nittany Lions have ten wrestlers ranked by InterMat, half underclassmen. True freshman Braeden Davis is 12-0 and ranked No. 4 at 125. Sophomore Aaron Nagao is 8-2 and ranked No. 5 at 133. Senior Beau Bartlett is 12-0 and No. 2 at 141. True freshman Tyler Kasak is 6-1 and ranked No. 12 at 149. Sophomore Levi Haines is 9-0 and ranked No. 1 at 157. Redshirt freshman Mitchell Mesenbrink is 13-0 and No. 7 at 165. Senior Carter Starocci is 7-0 and No. 1 at 174. Graduate Bernie Truax is 7-1 and No. 5 at 184. Senior+ Aaron Brooks is 8-0 and ranked No. 1 at 197. Senior Greg Kerkvliet is 7-0 and No. 1 at 285.

Maryland enters the weekend after two tough losses this past weekend, falling to Ohio State Friday night and Indiana on Sunday. The Terrapins have six wrestlers ranked by InterMat. Sophomore Braxton Brown is 13-6 and No. 21 at 133. Sophomore Kal Miller is 11-2 and No. 17 at 141. Ethan Miller is 10-5 and No. 14 at 149. Senior Michael North is 15-8 and No. 33 at 157. Sophomore Jaxon Smith is 12-2 and No. 5 at 197. Graduate Seth Nevills is 10-6 and No. 25 at 285. Penn State leads the all-time series with Maryland 46-1-2. The Lions won 44-3 last year in Rec Hall on Feb. 12, 2023.

Penn State returns home next weekend, hosting Ohio State on Friday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in another B1G Network telecast.
