NOTES: Penn State Visits Lehigh Sunday for 2 p.m. Dual Meet

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team (1-0, 0-0 B1G) will visit Lehigh on Sunday, Dec. 8, in Bethlehem, Pa. The dual with the Mountain Hawks begins at 2 p.m. All rankings listed are InterMat/InterMat TPI.

The Nittany Lions are coming off dominating the Black Knight Invitational two weekends ago in West Point, N.Y. Penn State won nine of ten individual titles. The Nittany Lions also own a 41-3 dual meet win over Drexel on Nov. 17.

Penn State’s line-up features ten ranked wrestlers. True freshman Luke Lilledahl is ranked No. 16 at 125, sophomore Braeden Davis is ranked No. 10 at 133, senior+ Beau Bartlett is No. 3 at 141, sophomore Shayne Van Ness is ranked No. 2 at 149, sophomore Tyler Kasak is No. 4 at 157, sophomore Mitchell Mesenbrink is No. 1 at 165, junior Levi Haines is No. 2 at 174, graduate Carter Starocci is No. 1 at 184, red shirt freshman Josh Barr is No. 23 at 197 and senior+ Greg Kerkvliet is No. 2 at 285.

Lehigh comes in to the dual with a 1-1 record. The Mountain Hawks feature a bevy of ranked wrestlers as well. Sheldon Seymour is No. 15 at 125, Ryan Crookham is No. 1 at 133, Malyke Hines is No. 22 at 141, Kelvin Griffin is No. 29 at 149, Michael Beard is No. 6 at 197 and transfer Owen Trephan is No. 10 at 285. The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series with Lehigh 74-34-3. Penn State has won 13 straight against Lehigh, including a 30-10 win last year in Rec Hall and a 24-12 win in 2022 in the last meeting in Bethlehem.

Penn State will host Wyoming next Sunday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. in Rec Hall in its next action.
