Penn State Wrestling Student Affiliate Club


As the wrestling season is now under way, the Student Wrestling Affiliate Club has also gotten off to a great start! The Club has been working hard to accomplish goals such as promoting this upcoming 2008-2009 Penn State Wrestling season and also the program’s next century of success.

  • Our goal is to promote and establish a student section at all of our home matches.
  • The members have been displaying and distributing posters and schedules downtown and throughout campus.
  • The Club has been helping the wrestlers and coaches with the membership drive at the stadium.
  • During wrestle-offs, the club helped out in many ways: keeping score, running the clocks, helping with the family brunch, and making cookies for the wrestlers.
  • Members of the Club make highlight tapes and scrapbooks for each starter throughout the season.
  • A student member, Krista Deluca, has helped out in a special way by singing the National Anthem at home matches.

Overall, this season looks as if it going to be a great success for both the Penn State wrestlers and the Student Wrestling Affiliate Club! The NCAA has announced qualifier allocations. The Big 10 will receive 56 automatic qualifiers (6, 5, 5, 8, 4, 5, 6, 5, 7, 5).
